Temperature Across Latitudes

Temperature increases from 40°S to about 20°N and then starts to decrease until around 60°N. This roughly matches the basic hypothesis that climates get colder away from the equator. The maximum temperatures are found near 20°N; this is most likely because the tilt of the earth causes the northern hemisphere to receive more direct light during summer in the northern hemisphere.
